As co-chairs, we would like to invite you to attend the third in a series of International Conferences devoted primarily to double balloon endoscopy (DBE). Since the initial workshop was held in Tokyo in 2006, much progress has been made and many articles have been published on the diagnosis and management of small bowel disorders based on new imaging technology. The primary objectives of the 3rd International Conference on Double Balloon Endoscopy are to examine the relationship of DBE to video capsule endoscopy and to discuss the latest developments in diagnostic and therapeutic DBE. We anticipate that the speakers and discussants will examine how we can optimize the use of these devices, either together or separately, in the care of our patients and in a variety of different contexts.
